Annual General Meeting
GR Redford Thursday 7th August 2014

The Annual General Meeting of the Group took place on Tuesday 5th August 2014 at the Thomas Cranmer Centre.

The Chair welcomed members to the meeting and thanked them for their attendance. The secretary reported on the activities of the Group during the last year and thanked Kath Auckland and Rose Rennie for organising speakers. The treasurer presented the annual accounts to the meeting and they were approved.

The Chair (Jean Flinton) and the secretary (Sally Baxter) were re-elected to their relative positions. Richard Sharpe was persuaded to stand again as Treasurer (he has been treasurer since the formation of the Group in 2001) and was accordingly elected.

In any other business, the meeting discussed the implications of the proposed development of 50 properties on Cliffhill Lane and what could be a signifcant heritage asset (Iron-age to Romano-British settlement). On a motion proposed bt Gregg Redford and seconded by Kath Auckland the Group decided to object to the application. Gregg Redford and Kath Auckland were appointed by the Group to make the appropriate objection.

Following the meeting, David Rowe and Graham Harper 'opened' the Parish Chest and the registers for Aslockton, Hawksworth, Orston, Thoroton and Whatton and the register for the General Cemetary on Mill Lane, Aslockton were made available for members to inspect (carefully!!!).
