Whatton Polling District Conservative Association

A meeting of the members of the above Association was held at the Mission-room, Aslockton, on Monday evening. Captain MH Hall, president was in the chair, and Mr. W Topham vice-chairman. Representative from Aslockton and the surrounding villages were present.

The first business was the election was the election of president, and Captain MH Hall was unanimously re-elected. Mr. Wm. Tpham was re-appointed chairman of the Association, and Mr. Hill vice-chairman. The Treasurer (Mr. H Bradwell, Hawksworth) presented the statement of accounts for the past year, which showed that the had a balance of 2 16s 8d. on the credit side, but that he expected to get in further subscriptions amounting to 3. The accounts will allowed to stand over till next meeting.

Mr. FT Stokes having resigned the position of secretary, Mr. Horace Sharpe, Aslockton, was chosen to fill the vacancy.

Mr. H Bradwell was unanimously re-elected treasurer.

Representatives to attend the annual Conservation Meeting, at Newark, were chosen. Mr. J Deveroux was put on the Committee as a representative from the village of Whatton.

Votes of thanks were accorded to the late secretary, Mr. FT Stokes, for his past ardous services, and to Wm. Topham, chairman of the Association. Thanks were also accorded to all other officers of the Association.
