Aslockton Village Feast

Fine, though at times, clod wather has favoured the celebration of this ancient and time-honoured carnival held this week.

In striking contrast to other similar local village functions, Aslockton Feast, far-famed as the premier feast of the district, show very little, if any, signs of losing its popularity. From near and far came relations and friends to partake of the villagers; hospitality.

We had a large array of riding-horses, Temple's Picturedrome, cocoanut-shies, skittles swing boats, shotting gallaries &c.

On Monday, our local cricket team, Whatton and Aslockton had as visitors a team from Bottesford. Going in first Bottesford score 61. To this Whatton and Aslockton replied with 75. Mr. F. A. Talbot contributiong 30 of this total;  the homesters thus won by 12 runs. East Bridgford were entertained on Tuesday. Winning the toss the visitors ran up the respectable score of 108. But, in response, ownig to the excellent bowling of Mssrs. I Richmond and J Bonner, Whatton and Aslockton could only muster 46.
